Flame Resistant (FR)
FR garments are designed to resist ignition and self-extinguish when exposed to flame. FR clothing helps reduce burn injury severity but is not fireproof.
Common standard:
Arc Rated (Electrical Arc Flash Protection)
Arc rated garments are tested to determine how much arc energy (cal/cm²) they can withstand before causing a second-degree burn.
Common references:
Arc ratings vary by garment and system. Layering affects total protection.
Enhanced Visibility vs ANSI High-Visibility
Some garments include reflective striping or enhanced visibility features. This does not automatically mean ANSI/ISEA certification unless explicitly labeled as such.
ANSI high-visibility garments must meet specific visibility performance standards and will state the applicable ANSI/ISEA designation.
Important Notice
Safety requirements vary by employer and jobsite.
TXOil Outfitters does not determine hazard levels for customers.
Always consult your employer or safety professional before selecting PPE.
Proper garment selection, fit, care, and maintenance are essential for maintaining protective performance.
