Arc Rated (AR)

Arc Rated (AR) garments are tested to measure their ability to withstand exposure to electrical arc flash hazards. Arc ratings are expressed in calories per square centimeter (cal/cm²) and indicate the level of thermal protection provided under laboratory conditions.

Arc Rated garments must be selected based on the calculated incident energy of the work environment.
